Velvet Pioppini and Red Sauce

Ingredients
1 lb.
Velvet Pioppini mushrooms
1 ½ lb. lean
ground beef or turkey
3 15 oz. cans
Italian stewed tomatoes
2 Tbsp.
olive oil
2
garlic
cloves, crushed or minced
1 small
yellow onion,
chopped
1 Tbsp.
oregano
1 Tbsp.
basil
Salt and pepper
to taste
12 oz. cooked
spaghetti,
or another pasta of your choice
Parmesan cheese
(optional)
Directions
Chop mushrooms into bite-sized pieces.
Sauté mushrooms in olive oil for 5-7 minutes then set aside.
In the same pan, sauté onions for 3-5. Then brown the ground meat and drain off excess liquid.
Add remaining ingredients to the pan and let simmer for about 20-30 minutes.
While the sauce is simmering cook your pasta.
For the last 10 minutes of simmering add the mushrooms into the sauce.
Serve garnished with parmesan cheese.
