Getting Apples This Month? Find out more about them!

Your apples this month will have three mid-season apple varieties. If you are getting a bag of the firsts, it will also include one pear variety.

All the apple varieties will store well for several weeks. The pears can be eaten now or set out on the counter for a couple of days to ripen fully.

Honeycrisp
This is a red apple with a yellow background. It is a mouth full of flavor and juicy crunch! Although it is hard to resist eating these apples fresh, they are also good in pies and sauce because they hold their structure. This well known apple was developed at the University of Minnesota in 1960.

Regent
Regents are a red-striped apple that is good for eating and cooking. Flavor is an outstanding balance of sweet and tart. The fruit will store for 4-5 months. A very popular Minnesota variety apple that was release by the University of Minnesota in 1963.

Sweet 16
A large, conical shaped apple with slight ribbing. The cream colored flesh is crisp, juicy and sweet with a hint of spice. This outstanding fresh eating apple has an excellent sweet flavor and stores for 5-8 weeks.

Patten Pear (Firsts only)
This good sized pear is tender and juicy with high flavor. This pear was introduced by Iowa State University in 1922.

Turkey Now Available for Ordering

We now have turkey available to order!

You can now order our large turkey as well as our turkey breast roast.

We also plan to have cutup pre-smoked dark meat and wings available for our November delivery -- as well as the option to get some 10-13 pound birds too -- but if you were looking for a larger turkey or turkey breast, we recommend ordering the available turkey items now if you are able to store them. Ordering for October ensures that you can get an available bird (there will be enough to order for this month) as well as helping us balance the load of the additional items for our deliveries! :)
